I was getting a lot of spam - never fifty a day, more like waves of twelve or so every so often - so I set the blog to send me notifications on comments and everything has to get approved before it shows up. The spam is down to a few a week.

If Google continues to be picky about this stuff I may have to migrate to another platform. That would be a pain, though.
